Job Title: Aircraft Detailer
Job Description

The Aircraft Detailer cleans, restores, and protects aircraft interiors and exteriors to a high standard of appearance and safety. This role combines hands-on detailing, careful use of cleaning products and equipment, and strict adherence to procedures to ensure every aircraft looks professional, feels comfortable, and remains well-maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, wash, and detail aircraft exteriors using wet and dry wash methods to remove dirt, grime, and contaminants.
  • Apply wax and perform paint revitalization to protect and enhance the aircraft’s exterior finish.
  • Deep clean and sanitize aircraft interiors, including cabins, seats, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Perform leather care, including cleaning, conditioning, and preserving leather surfaces.
  • Remove stains from carpets, upholstery, and other interior surfaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and products.
  • Clean and sanitize lavatories and galleys to maintain a hygienic and presentable environment for passengers and crew.
  • Polish brightwork and metal surfaces to restore shine and remove oxidation or blemishes.
  • Refurbish de-ice boots and other exterior components as needed to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Clean, wax, and polish furniture and fixtures within the aircraft as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company protocols while working in and around aircraft.
  • Work effectively as part of a small detailing team, coordinating tasks and supporting coworkers as needed.
  • Follow directions from supervisors and leads, and adhere to established work instructions and checklists.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and working on ladders or stands around aircraft.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools, equipment, and cleaning materials.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly in accordance with company and site rules.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of aircraft or automotive detailing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with cleaning, waxing, and polishing surfaces, including furniture or similar fixtures.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including working at heights and in various positions.
  • Comfort working at heights around aircraft using stands, ladders, or platforms.
  • Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility toward safety and quality.
  • Ability to follow procedures, instructions, and safety guidelines consistently.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Safety-minded approach to working in and around aircraft and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience detailing aircraft is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with car detailing that includes waxing, polishing, and interior deep cleaning is an asset.
  • Familiarity with leather care products and techniques.
  • Experience using specialized cleaning products for brightwork and metal surfaces.
  • Ability to adapt to different shifts and schedules as needed.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks within a small team.

Work Environment

This role is performed on-site at an aircraft facility as part of a small team that is in growth mode. Work is hands-on and physically active, frequently involving working in and around aircraft, including on stands or ladders at height. Openings are available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, offering flexibility in scheduling. The environment is operational and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures while using cleaning products, tools, and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
