Assigned Territory

This position serves patients throughout the Edwardsville area, providing specialty care at Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, and Post-Acute Care facilities located in Edwardsville, Belleville, O'Fallon , and surrounding communities. Daily travel within the assigned territory is expected to support patient care and operational needs.

Providers enjoy a full-time, Monday through Friday daytime schedule with no regularly scheduled weekends or traditional on-call responsibilities, allowing for an exceptional work-life balance.

What You'll Do

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Alteas Health, you'll provide specialty Cardiology or Pulmonology services while working collaboratively with physicians, facility staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and episodic cardiovascular conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within your scope of practice.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and ongoing care.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, therapy, pharmacy, social services, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Round at assigned Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, and Post-Acute Care facilities.
  • Build strong relationships with facility leadership and clinical teams.
  • Represent Alteas Health with professionalism, integrity, compassion, and clinical excellence.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the applicable state(s) of practice.
  • Current national certification appropriate to licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum six (6) months of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant clinical experience.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel daily throughout an assigned territory.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience.
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, Post-Acute Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Hospital Medicine, or Geriatrics.
  • Experience caring for medically complex patient populations.
