Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team.   A minimum of 3 years verified experience as a sushi chef is required.   This role involves preparing high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering an authentic dining experience to our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi dishes with precision and artistry
• Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety and sanitation standards
• Plan menus that highlight fresh ingredients and innovative sushi options
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
• Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy hours
• Uphold the restaurant’s quality standards and presentation for all dishes served
• Provide excellent food service by engaging with guests when appropriate

Required:

• A minimum of 3 years of verified experience as a Sushi Chef (sushi, sashimi, fish prep)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong knife skills, knowledge of Japanese cuisine, and proficiency in food handling techniques
• Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standard
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
• Reliable transportation 

• Background in upscale restaurant environments preferred
• Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
• Experience in catering, food service, or the food industry is advantageous
• Knowledge of Chinese, Spanish is a plus but not required
